Rodger Douglas
Doctor of Medical Heilkunst
I'm Rodger Douglas and I treat chronic illness with heilkunst. Now, I hear you asking, "Heilkunst? Dr. Douglas, what exactly is heilkunst?"

"That's easy," I reply, "Heil means heal and kunst is art, so heilkunst simply means the healing arts.
"Mmm, interesting." You say. "Tell me more."

"More specifically heilkunst is the broader practice of homeopathy. Most homeopathic doctors focus on..."
"Hold on a second," you reply, "What is homeopathy?"
"Great question. Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that uses highly diluted natural substances to treat illness."

Each person is unique, and their illness is unique too. focusing not just on symptoms but on the whole individual—body, mind, and emotions

A healthy Lifestyle
A healthy lifestyle can make a huge difference to your well-being. But first, remember that we are all unique, so we need a solution that is tailored for us. Some people feel better doing gentle stretches, others prefer short walks. Some do well eating more vegetables, while others get well giving up coffee.
But the body has its own quiet wisdom, and when we honestly listen to what it has to say, that's when healing begins. Interestingly, the things that are genuinely good for you, always feel good and are always satisfying.
My main job as a Doctor Medical Heilkunst, is not to give you lifestyle advice or even prescribe remedies. It’s to get you to reconnect with yourself, and I use three main tools to do this: lifestyle, mindfulness, and homeopathy.
Mindful Awareness
To truly heal, you need to understand why you became unwell in the first place. In many cases, the root cause of an illness can be traced back to the mind or emotions. Perhaps you are too nice of a person and let people walk all over you? Maybe you belief you are not worthy of being loved? Or could it be some old forgotten trauma from childhood that is keeping you ill?

Sometimes the answer is obvious and sometimes it's hidden. Perhaps we need to delve deep into the subconscious. Look at dreams Meditate or But people tend to fall asleep during meditation so often the best is a long chat. You talk and I listen.
Homeopathy
Most chronic illness is complex and multi-layered, so successful treatment often requires more than a single remedy. While homeopathy forms the foundation of my practice, I also use several related remedy systems that complement it, each with its own unique role.

Flower Remedies are prepared from flowering plants and are traditionally used to support emotional and mental well-being. Cell Salts are low-potency homeopathic mineral remedies designed to help restore the body's mineral balance and support healthy function. Gemmotherapy uses extracts from young buds and shoots and is often used to support the body's natural cleansing and regenerative processes.

At the heart of these approaches is homeopathy itself. Homeopathic remedies are selected individually to match the person's unique pattern of symptoms, with the aim of stimulating the body's own healing response and addressing the deeper causes of chronic illness. Used together, these remedy systems provide a broad and balanced approach that can support the emotional, nutritional, physical, and energetic aspects of health.

What to Expect

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here. If you’re new to homeopathy or wondering what it’s like to work with me, I'll will walk you through everything I do, step by step.

Free Call
I strongly suggest starting with a free call. You can chat with me for about 20 minutes and ask me any questions. II will answer them as best as I can. During the call I will use zero pressure to sign up.

First Consultation
Your first consultation with me usually lasts about 90 minutes, sometimes longer. We’ll stop when I’ve asked everything I need to, or when you’ve shared everything you wanted to. I take a very detailed approach.
Your Major Symptoms
We’ll start with your symptoms and really get into the specifics. If you tell me you have headaches, I’ll ask what kind—throbbing, stabbing, or dull? Which part of the head? What makes them worse? What helps? A hot bath? A nap? Are they worse in the morning or at night? Does the weather affect them?

The Rest of Your Body
After we explore your main concerns, I’ll ask about the rest of your body. You might mention your feet are always cold, or that you struggle to wake up in the morning, or that you get a cold every spring. These small details matter—they help paint a full picture of you.

Lifestyle
From there, we’ll talk about your daily life. How’s your sleep? Do you exercise? What do you usually eat for breakfast? What foods do you crave or avoid? How do you feel about coffee? This part can be surprising—we go into more detail than most people expect, but it’s all helpful.

Emotions & Personality
Next, we’ll move on to your emotions and personality. I’ll ask you to describe yourself. How do you deal with stress? Are you more shy or outgoing? What do you worry about? How do you react when things go wrong? This gives me a sense of how you experience the world.

Your Medical History
Then we look at your medical history and any trauma you’ve been through. We go all the way back to birth. What illnesses did you have as a child? What setbacks have you experienced? How did those events shape you? This can be emotional territory, but I’ll guide you gently.

Your Relationships
After that, we’ll discuss relationships. How do you get along with family members, coworkers, or close friends? This might not seem directly related to your health, but it’s actually very important. As people heal, they often start making positive changes—changing their diet, quitting a stressful job, starting something new—and these shifts can stir up reactions in others. I’ve seen it many times: someone makes a breakthrough, and suddenly a partner or friend starts feeling uncomfortable. That’s why it’s important to talk about your support system.

Dreams & Aspirations
At the end of the session, I like to ask about your dreams—both the ones you have at night, and your dreams for your life. Your sleep dreams often hold powerful symbolic clues, and your life dreams tell me where you want to go. What do you hope to change with this treatment? What would your life look like if you healed? These questions are just as important as the physical ones.

Aftercare & Remedies
After the session, I’ll take a few days to study everything and choose the best remedy for you. I use a wide range of homeopathic remedies, and I send them by post. You don’t need to pay extra - the cost of the remedy and mailing is already included in the consultation fee. It usually takes about a week for the remedy to arrive.

In the meantime, I’ll give you some lifestyle or mindfulness exercises to work on while you wait. I place a strong focus on these kinds of daily practices. Healing isn’t just about taking a remedy—it’s also about slowly shifting how you live.

Weekly Follow-ups
Unlike most homeopaths who check in once a month, I prefer to offer short weekly follow-ups at first. Just a quick 10-minute chat, once a week, to see how you’re doing. These mini check-ins are included in the price of your initial consultation and continue for the first three months. I’ve found they help keep motivation high and give us a chance to make small course corrections together. After that, we’ll usually shift to monthly consultations.

Confidentiality & Respect
Everything you tell me is kept completely confidential. I’m a one-person practice, and I never share your information with anyone. The only exception is when I’m working with a dependent—like a child—and both parties agree to share details. Otherwise, what you tell me stays between us.

I’ve worked with people from six continents, all kinds of personalities and walks of life. Nothing you say will be judged. This is a safe space, and you’re welcome just as you are.

Phone Consultations
I live in Japan, but most of my clients are in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. So, I do consultations by phone, usually on WhatsApp. Most people prefer voice calls because they feel more relaxed and open. Occasionally I do a video call, but that’s rare. Some clients prefer text-based consultations, especially if English isn’t their first language. That’s completely fine. In fact, text consultations can work really well, since you have more time to think about my questions and respond to them.

Now and then, I may send you an email between sessions if I have a follow-up question or thought. You’re welcome to write to me too.

So that’s what to expect. A deep, personal, supportive process. One step at a time.
